The 54th Tea Pots and Tea Things Tuesday,Grandma Smith

Welcome to....

the 54th Tea Pots and Tea Things Tuesday

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born.  She never existed before.  The woman existed, but the mother, never.  A mother is something absolutely new.

~Rajneesh

A warm welcome to all of you!  I trust you had a delightful Mother's Day, with those that are the most important to you.  Please settle yourself at the tea table and introduce yourself to your neighbours.

Today's tea is being served with my Grandma Smith's tea set and two of her teacups.  She was born in 1910.  I know her through the stories my aunts told over the years, but I never met her.
Through their personal accounts, I became aquainted with a strong, compassionate, resourceful woman whose faith grew through adversity.  Her shadow falls long over the last century.  Someone I would have loved to have known.

Proverbs 6:20-22 ESV
My son, keep your father’s commandment, and forsake not your mother’s teaching. (21) Bind them on your heart always; tie them around your neck. (22) When you walk, they will lead you; when you lie down, they will watch over you; and when you awake, they will talk with you.

If you have a moment to linger I invite you to stop in to the ........... to see what our darling hostess has for us to savour.

The more the fun!

We don't want to miss a single teacup or teapot!

  19. Hi Pam,
I love antique porcelain, so for me it was a joy to appreciate your lovely Smith teaset.
And the fact that it belonged to your grandmother adds family history and so doubles the interest of the pieces.

I´m your newest follower, too... from the other side of the Atlantic Ocean!!!
