35th 'Teapot And Tea Things Tuesday'; Fitz and Floyd

Welcome to ...

35th, 'Teapot And Tea Things Tuesday'!

I love the Christmas-tide, and yet
I notice this, each year I live;
I always like the gifts I get,
But how I love the gifts I give!

                                                                      Carolyn Wells

W elcome one and all!  It is wonderful to have you drop in for a cup of steaming tea and a sweet treat.  Do find a cozy, comfy chair to settle into for  a wee break.  Are you still as busy as I with the festivities of this blessed season? Then all the better to sit and visit with the others. A gift to yourself and to us who enjoy your company.  I would love to know what gift was the most heartfelt of all, to you?

I want to share a very special teaset this week. It was a gift.  Mr R was on a business trip several winters ago, in New Brunswick, and stumbled upon a Christmas teapot. Being it was a few weeks after Christmas it was nicely marked down, so he made the purchase and brought it back to Ontario.  He thought finding the matching cream and sugar would be simple. But they were no where to be found, in the stores.  As the seasons changed he persisted in his quest and suceeded in finding it on Ebay, in time for that Christmas!  IT has been part of our Christmas traditions ever since.

A s time is short this week I simplified my tea table, adding a few new pieces to selected pieces from last week.

otherwise they are salt and pepper shakers

We found two boxes of teacup spoons at
HomeSense on the 24th
I thought they would add some sparkle to the tree
and hung them like icicles

Let's play a Victorian game.
Can you find the pickle??
You must search to find it!

33rd 'Teapot And Tea Things Tuesday'; Teddy Bears At Tea:

Welcome to....
33rd , 'Teapot And Tea Things Tuesday'

Welcome kind ladies!  I do not have a tea table set for us this week.  I am out of town for a few days.  I decided to share a post from a year ago.

However, you can still join in the fun with Wanda and the other folks who stop by. Enjoy a cuppa of for me!

The wind is mischievously blowing the fluffy flakes of snow about this afternoon. Hither and yon like a game of tag they float gently almost settling on the ground only to be swept up by a jovial gust of wind to touch the top of a tree. Up and down, around and around they go to eventually settle with their friends who have been sidelined on the ground.

T his playfulness reminds me of the child-like awe that I sometimes struggle to bring to this season of joy. You may have some memories in the distant past that some how take on a new sting, or be missing a loved one, this time of year, too. Then now would be a good time to sit with a cuppa of your favorite tea, hot chocolate or latte and share the memories and the truths that you know in your heart and pause to savour them, nurture them lovingly like a child, so they will grow and heal that corner of your heart.

Isaiah 66:13
As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you;

Luke 2:10
But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.

The First Heavenly Night

To be inspired go to Spiritual Sundays here

Do you ever wonder how Mary and Joseph felt that first Christmas?
If there had been a white dove nesting on the rafters of that humble stable,
was she the first to sing a lullaby to baby Jesus?
I wish I could have been there!

This is my new favorite Christmas song.

Heavenly Night

Jesus was born in Bethlehem

There were some shepherds and wise men

And Mary and Joseph thanked the Lord

For bringing salvation in their little boy

And the white dove cooed

And the angels sang on high

Don’t you wish you could have been there

On that heavenly night

Jesus was born to set us free

He came to earth for you and me

And every Christmas I thank the Lord

For bringing salvation in His little boy

And the white dove cooed

And the angles sang on high

Don’t you wish you could have been there

On that heavenly night

                                                      Chorus

Heavenly night when Christ was born

Heavenly night

Heavenly night

Close your eyes and say a prayer

Pray for the children everywhere

Pray for the babies where soldiers fight

That they might know peace for one night

Let the white dove coo

Let the angles sing on high

And pray for peace for just one night

For one heavenly night
