Weekly Words to Live By #165

Both Sides Now

The inner half of every cloud
Is bright and shining;
I therefore turn my clouds about,
And always wear them inside out
To show the lining.

Can you see the inside of your cloud at this moment?  What a philosophy to aspire to. It is our choice to look for the inside of our cloud.  For myself, it needs to be a daily discipline.  Here's a suggestion.

Philippians 4:8 (The Message)
8-9 Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.

  4. Happy Monday Paper Butterfly,
    That is a lovely and true post!! I used to think when I had a bad situation well it says to think on what is true, and it is true this is a bad thing and how can I look at it any differently but I learned that it doesn't mean it isn't true that your situation is bad, it just means not to focus all your attention on that bad thing and get tunnel vision until that is all you see and everything in the world looks so bad. Cause there are usually good things and blessings that are happening simultaneously with the bad, and we need to try focusing on that instead!! I have seen people throw away and 80-85% good marriage for a 15-20% relationship and then get remarried and realize that they threw away a mostly good marriage for a lil area of need. Sad!!
    Good scripture, don't you love that message Bible. I love how explanatory it is!!
    Have a great week hon,
    Blessings, Nellie

  5. Hi Paper Butterfly! What a beautiful post! I love Philippians 4:8....whenever I am having a bad day, this is one scripture that helps me to truly re-focus if I meditate on those things! How can you remain sad or angry if you are meditating on pure and beautiful things! :) God is good!

    Thank you for commenting on my blog and following...I joined yours as well! :)
