We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.
~Maya Angelou
Early in the morning I started with a few pieces.
Something wasn't quite right....I changed my mind about the glass mugs.
Can you guess what my theme is going to be?
A champagne glass and butterfly dish from an antique shop in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
A new candlewick/cornflower cream and sugar $3.00 at the thrift store
Butterfly emerging from its cocoon
Faberge-styled teapot
Homesence, quite sometime ago
A friend is waiting
Fresh green and delicate roses
Sotfest pink with apple blosooms
Lemon with your tea?
The butterfly
Gold gilded glass serving dish
I thought savory nibbles would be a pleasant change.
The butter-i-est cheese straws.
A blossom tea
The table is set for and waiting for you.
I am eagerly waiting to serve tea and settle in for a chat.
I am eagerly waiting to serve tea and settle in for a chat.
I met someone, the other day, who was so composed, sophisticated and worldly that I thought they must have always lead a charmed life. Upon speaking to them they revealed more heartaches, disappointments and challenges than any one person should have to endure in a lifetime. Yet, their struggles have shaped their character into the beautiful attributes that I so admire.
How like a butterfly they are. From an awkward caterpillar, spinning its cocoon of hardness and brown to the glorious, perfectly symmetrical creature that breaks free of its chrysalis, how similar our life journey is. Did you know that if interrupted during its struggle to free itself from its shroud, the butterfly's development is hampered and it will not develop to full maturity?Maybe unable to unfurl its wings and never fly.
We are the same. Only after the challenges, struggles and hardships of life that come our way do we develop the characteristics and skills that carry us toward our full potential that God would have us become. Whatever bump or boulder you may be encountering along the road today have faith with God's help you will overcome and spread your wings
2 Corinthians 12:9 (The Message)
My grace is enough; it's all you need.
My strength comes into its own in your weakness.
We thank all who are so generous with their time and willing to share their treasures with us. We invite you to take a moment to enjoy the vignettes and special tea treasures that the lovely tea ladies have to share, compliments of Mr Linky. The sincere invitation to join the party is always there..,

Oh these are lovely tea things...of course I am always in love with teacups with beautiful roses on them...and the backstamps are equally impressive :) :) :) My hands down favorite will always be the pink ones ): :)...but they're all so pretty..What a blessing that is to have and thanks for sharing these.
ReplyDeleteI was really ingrigued by the teapot!!! I was watching HSN last night, because I was bored and I wanted some noise in the house...Padma Lakshmi was on talking about her flowering teas...really neat...it's herbs, flowers etc...somehow sewn together real tight...you put one in a teapot...pour hot water into it, and watch it bloom as the tea steeps :) :) It's lovely. Is that one of hers? No matter, it's great!!!
Oh, Pam, were you the one that had those really cute sugar cubes that had pink frosting on them awhile back? If yes, how did you make them? I don't remember if you or someone else told me that already or not!!!
Have a lovely week. I'm getting my tea things ready for Tuesday. This will be so much fun!!!
Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)
