Welcome to our
Wanda and I want to thank you all for your kind words and your beautiful contributions the last few weeks. I have been humbled and inspired by each of your table settings, precious tea treasures and kind comments. It is wonderful to hear the sweet memories that some of you have shared surrounding your china.
We look forward to seeing your creative adventures in photo and prose, this week.
Unique Treasures
Respect...is appreciation of the separateness of the other person,
of the ways in which he or she is unique.
Annie Gottlier
When you imagine a teacup, what do you see in your mind's eye first? Perhaps, like me you picture flowers, of various colours and varieties or swirls and geometrics. I have two teacups and a cream and sugar, to share with you, that are not the typical floral treasures in my collection. I think that is why these new pretties were so endearing to me. They were a pleasant change to what I usually purchase. They were unique and that is what made them so appealing.
I invite you to sit by the window, enjoy the green-ness of the garden and contemplate on the people you have met that are special because they are unique. I will serve tea and we can reminisce about how they have touched our lives and perhaps opened our minds' to new ideas. Are we not all the same but different? I think God wanted it that way. And it was good.

A champagne glass that I have used for lemon slices before.
It was the perfect colour. A tea light for ambiance.
Seashell plate for some lavender short breads.
A touch of yellow flowers to tie it all together.
Just cute!

My dear, dear friends, if God loved us like this, we certainly ought to love each other. No one has seen God, ever. But if we love one another, God dwells deeply within us, and his love becomes complete in us—perfect love!
And another week begins. We invite you to take a moment to enjoy the vignettes and special tea treasures that they have to share. The sincere invitation to join the party is always there.
We are all encouraged by your comments.
Oh, right you are!!! Those teacups and creamer and sugar are gorgeous. Totally unique. I know I've never seen a paisley teacup before. But their uniqueness is what adds to their beauty.
ReplyDeleteyou know, I spent YEARS of my life trying to do and be what other people thought I should do and be. Approval and acceptance were always withheld if I didnt' conform to what they wanted, so I learned to jump through hoops, never really being myself. Eventually, I didn't know who I was or what I liked because I'd been squelching the "real me" for so long. Praise God!!! He has freed me from that bondage. I realize that it really IS okay if I'm different. So...I wear dresses most of the time, I LOVE classic-era movies, I listen to Frank Sinatra, I DON'T grow a vegetable garden, and on an on it goes.
God didn't make cookie cutter people, and we all need to give one another the freedom to let others do and be what God has put on their hearts to do and be, instead of trying to force them into the mold we think they should be in.
Just like your black lace and paisley teacups...we don't have to look like everyone else.
I'm sorry, this is a rather rambling comment. But, honestly, this is a soapbox issue for me. After spending so many years being mocked for being different, I am passionate about the fact that different doesn't mean wrong.
Blessings,
Patti (Fill My Cup with Beauty)
Hi Pam..
ReplyDeleteI love all the tea things you put on display today :) :) They're wonderful. It's inspired me to collect different patterns. I love teacups that have a tiny secret rose on the inside of the cup...just the ones in the black lace teacups :) :) I have a couple of teacups like that. I'll have to find them. I"m still trying to decide what I'll display this Tuesday!!!! I love tea!!! OH, Thanks also for the good Scripture verses!!! I'm always encouraged by reading the Bible :) ): Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)
Thanks for joining with me once again in the delights of co-hosting our 11th, 'Teapot And Tea Things Tuesday' my dear friend!..,
ReplyDeleteThis is just beyond lovely Pam; what a wonderful selection of pictures and fabulous prose you have presented us with this week!
I have to run now to ready myself for Rose and Eric's 16th wedding anniversay party for this evening!~ They were to have been here over two hours ago with the ingredients for ME to bake a cake for THEM, and are nowhere insight,(so I'll have to pray for grace!..,They just arrived after two weeks away, where they were visiting Eric's relatively, recently widowed mom in Cape Breton.~ (I had to go to the greatest lengths to even find them to find out what the plans were, with no contact nunber in sight)!
..,I also have a hair dressers appointment on Tuesday, as well as an early doctors appointment on Wednesday morning, so who knows where I'll find the time to post some pictures,
plus run the B. and B., which is now in full tilt!..,
However Pam, I absolutely love these afternoon teas of ours, so I will find the time!
Take care and have a marvelous week!
P.S.~ Oh my!.., I am signed in as you I see; oops!~ (Yet if I sign out and then re-sign in as 'moi', I will loose this comment that I typed and frankly I do not have the time to do so)..,
Cheers and hugs from Wanda Lee

ReplyDeleteBeth
Everything is always so pretty and so perfect. I love it. Thanks so much for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteThese are all so lovely. Just lovely. I have a Royal Standard Keepsake teacup. It has the same black lace on the outside but the flowers inside are blue instead of pink. These are all so pretty. Take care.
ReplyDeleteYour tea china is beautiful. I really like the black lace cup and saucer - so pretty and unusual looking. The scallop plate (my favorite kind of shell) is lovely too.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful things you've shown us today! I agree -- the shape and design of the teacup is what attracts me to different china patterns. If the cup is boring, I move on! These you've shown today are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYour tea cup collection is beautiful. When I think of a tea cup, I think of something very delicate with flowers.
ReplyDeleteI would love to sit down and have tea with you! The tea cups are so beautiful! I love the the egg vase..I have a white one that I use at Easter! Just so pretty. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteCome visit me!
Your photos are perfection! I like both teacups. I've always been a paisley fan, but the black lace is really dramatic! I found a little made-in-France footed egg-shaped vase similar to yours at Goodwill the other day. I thought it would be perfect on a tea tray (or for a breakfast in bed)!
