In the same manner in which we clean and prepare our homes in the anticipation of welcomed guests and family members this Christmas season, let us also prepare our hearts in anticipation of the Lord's coming. Christ, our most honored and eagerly anticipated guest, desires to meet with us in a heart prepared for his arrival. So eager is He to meet with us that He offers to help us with our spiritual housecleaning, working with us; creating a resting place for Himself within our hearts.

H ow is it that even though I have known Christmas was coming I am still working on my,  "to-do list"?  I will persist, without panic, but with confidence, that the essentials will be accomplished.  A lofty attitude one might say.  How can she say that with such certainty?  As the year comes to a close in the next two weeks, I look back and see that there surely has been some spiritual housework going on in my own life, for many months.  Not that there aren't many hurts, like dust bunnies to sweep up,  forgotten prizes left unpolished or questions and doubts like pillows out of place, still to be dealt with.  No, the work is yet to be completed, and in my human-ness I know it never will be, but Jesus does not tire and the cleaning will continue. I have faith that God will continue the good work He has started in me.  As I prepare my heart for Him my guests will feel His presence and peace, as they are welcomed into our home, even if there is a stray dust bunny or two.  I pray you will  find your own heart and hearth a welcome place for your guests.  K-I-S-S! Keep it stylish and simple. How’s that you say?  Try to  stay true to your sense of style and to keep things simple and uncomplicated.

I hope you have a moment to sit with me and offer your suggestions on how to prepare for guests this Christmas season, what your style is and how ot keep it simple, so we all have time to enjoy

May the splendor of this season remind you of Him who is worthy of all our praise.

Wishing you the gift of faith, the blessing of hope and the peace of His love
at Christmas and always.

The 85th, Teapot And Tea Things Tuesday; Gingerbread Christmas Tea Party;

Welcome to our special...

85th, 'Teapot And Tea Things Tuesday'!

Come sit at my table and share with me,

Warm gingerbread cookies and cinnamon tea.

Welcome one and all to our Gingerbread Christmas Tea Party!  It is wonderful to have you drop in for a cup of steaming tea and a sweet treat.  Do find a cozy, comfy chair to settle into for  a wee break.  Are you still as busy as I with the festivities of this blessed season? Even more reason to sit and visit with the others and catch your breath. A gift to yourself and to us who enjoy your company.

A special thank you to Sandi @ Rose Chinz Cottage  and
Kathy @ A Delightsome Life  for their wonderful teas last week!

Thank you for hosting such wonderful events, ladies.

Do you have a Gingerbread house or treat or recipe with ginger in it to share?  I can hardly wait to see what you have. Please use Mr Linky and delight us with your offering.  As always we love to  catch a glimpse of anything related to tea.  Mr Linky will be available on Monday.

I want to share a very special teaset this week. It was a gift.  Mr R was on a business trip several winters ago, in New Brunswick, and stumbled upon a Gingerbread house teapot. Being it was a few weeks after Christmas it was nicely marked down, so he made the purchase and brought it back to Ontario.  He thought finding the matching cream and sugar would be simple. But they were no where to be found, in the stores.  As the seasons changed he persisted in his quest and suceeded in finding it on Ebay, in time for that Christmas!  IT has been part of our Christmas traditions ever since.

A s time is short this week I simplified my tea table, adding a few new pieces to selected pieces from last week.

Merry Christmas Recipe

Blend equal parts of Faith and Hope mixed well with Charity;

Stir in Good Will and Sweet Content and Precious Memory.
Add Kindness, Helpfulness and Joy; of Gratitude don't spare;
Then drop by drop Love's Essence sweet, and Praises freely share.
And don't forget such spices rare as Laughter, Smiles and Fun,
Taste often for the best results, ('Tis sweet to mince upon).
Now add a
Thankful Heart and then, the recipe's complete,
Your "Merry Christmas" all will like … so try the season's treat.

Welcome to....

84th, 'Teapot And Tea Things Tuesday'

"God bless us everyone"

Tiny Tim from Charles Dickens', The Christmas Carol

"Family faces are magic mirrors. Looking at people who
belong to us, we see the past, present and future.
We make discoveries about ourselves."
Gail Lumet Buckley

Please join  ROSE CHINTZ COTTAGE

I am joining Sandi @ ROSE CHINTZ COTTAGE, today for a Christmas tea.
You are invited too!  Please join Sandi for "Embrace THE SEASON"

Sandi, can't wait to see all your lovely holiday tea things as well as a
1. Holiday Craft
2. Recipe
3. Christmas memory.
You are welcome to share any of the above or all three if you wish. The more the merrier as they say!

My offering is a recipe but it is to nourish and pamper you from the outside in.

I enjoy gifting my friends with a homemade sugar scrub.  Here is the recipe.  Please only use organic ingredents.

SIMPLE SUGAR SCRUB

          1 cup      Granulated Sugar
2 cups    Olive oil, or sweet almond oil, coconut oil
several drops of essential oil,  my favorite is lavendar

Mix thoroughly and place in a pretty container
I prefer using sugar over salt because it is gentler on your skin.

I added a cute spoon

I will also be joining Kathy @ A Delightsome Life,
for her "Christmas With Victoria".

And the following week, December 12, you are invited to join
Wanda Lee @ Plumed Pen and myself for their

GingerbreaTea.

I am delighted that you have taken some time for yourself and dropped in for tea.  This is a busy time of year and it is so important to take a moment to collect your thoughts while you relax for a few moments.  If I do not leave a note this week please know I have stopped by when time allowed, but I may not have the time to chat.  I will in turn not be concerned if you don't have time to chat either. We will catch up soon!

We don't need the spirits from Dickens' classic to learn about ourselves. Our time with family often has a similar effect. Sometimes positive and sometimes revealing. Our pastor, in church, spoke on Sunday about happiness as it relates to our past, present and future. I found it helpful and would love to share a couple of his points with you.

The key to happiness lies in having a right relationship with our past, present, and future.

1. Relating to our past through ACCEPTANCE (faith). It happened, but the past is not real any more.  Re-living any of is futile. The ONLY thing that matters in your past, is that Jesus was born, lived and died, and lived again... for you.

2. Relating to our future through ANTICIPATION (hope). The best is yet to come.

3. Relating to our present through AWARENESS (love). Living with what matters today; relationships, people and being thankful for everything God has made us stewards of.

As in Dicken's classic tale,The Christmas Carol,  the present is the only thing we can make choices about. Choose to be grateful, choose to be happy, choose to love, in our present circumstances.

Fruits of the Spirit  Galations5:22-23 (The Message)
But what happens when we live God's way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely.

ACCEPTANCE (faith).
1 Timothy 1:15; Romans 15:17

ANTICIPATION (hope).
Matthew 5:11-12; Hebrews 12:2; 2 Corinthians 4:17; Revelation 21:3-4

AWARENESS (love).
Acts 17:28
