In the same manner in which we clean and prepare our homes in the anticipation of welcomed guests and family members this Christmas season, let us also prepare our hearts in anticipation of the Lord's coming. Christ, our most honored and eagerly anticipated guest, desires to meet with us in a heart prepared for his arrival. So eager is He to meet with us that He offers to help us with our spiritual housecleaning, working with us; creating a resting place for Himself within our hearts.

I Lift My Eyes Ministries
H ow is it that even though I have known Christmas was coming I am still working on my, "to-do list"? I will persist, without panic, but with confidence, that the essentials will be accomplished. A lofty attitude one might say. How can she say that with such certainty? As the year comes to a close in the next two weeks, I look back and see that there surely has been some spiritual housework going on in my own life, for many months. Not that there aren't many hurts, like dust bunnies to sweep up, forgotten prizes left unpolished or questions and doubts like pillows out of place, still to be dealt with. No, the work is yet to be completed, and in my human-ness I know it never will be, but Jesus does not tire and the cleaning will continue. I have faith that God will continue the good work He has started in me. As I prepare my heart for Him my guests will feel His presence and peace, as they are welcomed into our home, even if there is a stray dust bunny or two. I pray you will find your own heart and hearth a welcome place for your guests. K-I-S-S! Keep it stylish and simple. How’s that you say? Try to stay true to your sense of style and to keep things simple and uncomplicated.
I hope you have a moment to sit with me and offer your suggestions on how to prepare for guests this Christmas season, what your style is and how ot keep it simple, so we all have time to enjoy
May the splendor of this season remind you of Him who is worthy of all our praise.
Wishing you the gift of faith, the blessing of hope and the peace of His love
at Christmas and always.
If you have a moment to linger I invite you to stop in to The Silken Purse
to see what my co hostess, Wanda, has for us to savour.
The more the fun!
We don't want to miss a single teacup or teapot!

Isn't it an incredible blessing that He never gives up on us...no matter how distracted we get, or how we drag our feet! How can we ever be anything but blessed? Merry Christmas!

Please do take even 'a wee moment', as we're all busy for sure! I'd love a cheery comment as I always love hearing from my dear friend and co-host..,
Thanks in advance sweet friend. You are always in my fond thoughts and prayers!
Blessings from Wanda Lee
P.S. ~ I can hardly wait to see more creativity in the form of photos in the new year from time to time as you are able.
..,You have more talent then you realize!.., Although now I think you do surely know..,
I encourage you, 'gently, respectfully, lovingly 'nudging you' ONWARD, (AS TIME AND HEALTH MAY PERMIT).., precisely BECAUSE..,
As your friend I realize that we women especially very much actually NEED to nurture our creative souls and take a respite from the many cares and worries, amidst God's amazing grace and blessings, amongst the hurts, and fatigues of life to let our creative spirits soar!
P.P.S. ~ It's actually healing and renews our energies. Yes lest 'K.I.S.S.' it, but try a dabble hear and there my sweet friend!
Beautiful tea set up on a cake plate to give it a place of importance. Thanks for the reminded to K.I.S.S. My sister always says, "It is more important who is around the table, than what is on it." I try to remember that, and still KISS. Merry Christmas. ~CJ
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteSuch sweet words of wisdom here. It is so important to keep focused on the "reason for the season." It's not about the gifts, but the Giver of all good gifts. ;)
