The 81st, 'Teapots and Tea Things Tuesday'; Flower Tapestry Picture:

Welcome to....

the 81st  Teapot and Tea Things Tuesday

In the effort to give good and comforting answers to the young questioners whom we love, we very often arrive at good and comforting answers for ourselves.
                                                                                         Ruth Goode

Sometimes the simplest questions can be a wonderful opportunity to teach our young ones but in doing so, we may have a better understanding ourselves. A straightforward question can have an intricate and insightful solution. Let's relax over a cup of piping hot tea and ask a few questions of our own.  Who knows what mysteries we will unravel?

A preview of what is to come.

PEARS BAKED IN CREAM from Martha Stewart

PEARS BAKED IN CREAM
a favorite from Martha Stewart's QUICK COOK

This has become a favorite dessert amongst family and friends.
It can be done at the last minute with very little prep time and the ingredient list is minimal, but the results are over the top!
2 tablespoons (1/4 stick) unsalted butter
2 tablespoons sugar
2 Bosc or Bartlett peaars, unpeeled,
   halved and cored
1/2 cup heavy cream

1.  Preheat oven to 400°.  Butter a shallow baking dish with 1 tablespoon butter and sprinkle 1 tablespoon sugar and dot with butter.
2.  Put the pears, cut side down, in the dish.  Sprinkle with remaining sugar and dot with butter.
3.  Bake for 10 minutes.  Pour the cream over the pears and return to the oven for 20 minutes more.   Serve warm.

I have substituted plums and peaches with equally tastey results.

I served it in my crystal compotes at this tea
this week, view here

My pleasure to join with others @ Foodie Friday

The 8oth, Teapot And Tea Things Tuesday:

Welcome to ...

the 80th, Teapot and Tea Things Tuesday!

Whatever we possess becomes of double value
when we have the opportunity
of sharing it with others

                                                                                                                             Bouilly

Welcome friends, old and new, to this 80th post of  'Teapot and Tea Things Tuesday'It has been a pleasure to become acquainted with each of you, over the last 80 weeks and have a glimpse of  your treasures and the memories.  I have enjoyed selecting each piece and  have indeed found that in sharing them with you has given me great pleasure.

On this occassion I wanted to do something a little special to mark the day.

I wish to thank  my dear friend Wanda, at Silken Purse who co-hosts this meme every week, with me.  Without her constant support and encouragement I would not have ventured to do this.  And to all of you who have given encouraging comments and become followers or particapants, I am thrilled that I have had the opportunity to share my tea treasures with you.  I am the richer for it.

As you settle yourself at the tea table I will go to the kitchen and serve up one of my favorite autumn desserts.  It is simple, quick and very tastey.  I hope you enjoy it!

Be very sure now, you who have been trained to a self-sufficient maturity, that you enter into a generous common life with those who have trained you, sharing all the good things that you have and experience.

If you have a moment to linger I invite you to stop in to The Silken Purse

The 79th Teapot and Tea Things Paris and Fun

Welcome to the  79th,

 Teapot And Tea Things Tuesday!..,

"Girls Just Want to Have Fun"
                                                                                                                    Cyndi Lauper

The weather this week has been unpredictable.
Cool,
              windy,
                  mild,
                       rain,
                            sunny,
                                cloudy
                                             and foggy.
This has made for interesting photography.
Use a flash.....don't use a flash
Shadows where you don't want them
Glare where you don't want it
Inconsistant results....a few duds, (quite a few).
Why did I keep attempting to photograph the elusive?
Fun!!  Yes I was having fun!
Hope you have fun around the tea table, too.

Where else but Paris Enjoy some fun

A coffee mug on a saucer
Why not....a little different

Or....use a teacup and saucer to serve a
soup or dessert

Black and white cream and sugar

Like the weather this week I changed my mind
The cyrstal appeals to me more
Or maybe...  Which do you prefer?

Who is that mademoiselle?

She once lived with my Aunt Orpha.
I adopted her a few years ago when she had no place to go.
We both miss Auntie still.

What would one be served at tea time in Paris??
Come back for Foodie Friday  and discover what I chose

If you have a moment to linger I invite you to stop in to The Silken Purse
